Sex really ought to be one of life's simplest and safest pleasures, instead it has become a political hot-rod where conservative lawmakers have failed to allow those with lower socio-economic status benefit from some public policy changes that would reduce the inequality that is wreaking havoc with their sex lives.
It's sad to know that socio-economic status now plays such a definitive role in deciding who gets to have a better time in the bedroom and who doesn't.
According to a recent analysis of the first "Spanish Sexual Health Survey" by researchers at the Public Health Agency in Barcelona, there's a sex divide where rich women in particular are having a better sexual time with their partners than their poorer colleagues.
Triment.blogspot.com.ng
is looking at 4 shocking yet valid reasons why rich women enjoy better
sex than the poor and it has nothing to do with whether they can buy a
better quality lovemaking.
1.) Education
A recent survey
claims besides women with primary education likely to have suffered
more sexual abuse than women with university education, it also seems
women of lower socio-economic status invariably use less contraception. This is because they either don't know what it is or what it's meant for.
Poorer women have limited access to studies and the internet where they could be educated on the value of family planning
or the use of contraceptives. So, most times, instead of enjoying sex,
they get entangled with the struggling thoughts of not wanting to get
pregnant (for the fourth, fifth or sixth time) when having sex.
Some
don't even know how to get better sex, they are ignorant of the various
sex positions that can make sex explosive and/or lack knowledge about
dick sizes etc. All these hinder them from having better sex. The
reverse is majorly true with their rich counterparts.
2.) Sexual Abuse:
It certainly shouldn't come as a big surprise that women who are more likely to be abused by their partners or for whom sex is more likely to result in unwanted pregnancies
would enjoy it less. Women in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods
in our communities are more than twice, likely to be victimized multiple
times or even severely injured by their intimate partners during sex
than the better-off women.
Because sex becomes a nightmare, they poorer women get less satisfaction from it. In a data compiled by the Guttmacher Institute
in December 2013, unintended pregnancies are increasingly concentrated
among the poor and less educated women because their partners become
dominants and the women only do whatever please their men including
having sex when lacking the zeal too.
3.) Access to proper health care:
Reportedly, conservative lawmakers have turned their attention in the recent past to restricting access to birth control or
contraception to low-income women not knowing that by doing so, they
are only making the sex lives of these women less pleasurable.
A
woman who already has too many children to feed is more worried about
not getting pregnant than enjoying sex. She's sometimes forced to think
sex is just to make babies and there's no pleasure having it. Most
times, their minds wonder on how to prevent their men from getting them
pregnant that they don't care to partake in the sexual act
.
4.) Financial status
It's
common knowledge that a man or women who is financially stable is a
less-worried man and therefore has a clear mind to have an explosive sex
life. But to the poor, sex becomes unbearable especially if the man is
not only poor but thinks of his financial problems during sex.
In
Africa, most women are forced to become the breadwinners to their
families. With a lazy and unemployed man by her side, the women take on
the house expenses which inlcudes, making money for food, children's
education, house rent etc. The family expenses become the woman's
problem.
At some point, she starts givng sex
lesser consideration. In fact, she starts to see sex as something to do
to forget about her poverty and struggles. Sex becomes
like a routine, a must-do just in order to fulfil her marital duties or
even an act for her man to remind himself he's in charge of their
relationship. This pressure - which is not on the shoulders of the rich -
hinders these disadvantaged women from getting sexually satisfied.
